Racquetball
The BYU Racquetball team traveled to Raleigh, North Carolina to the beautiful campus of NC State to be a part of the 2025 Collegiate National Racquetball Championship from March 26th-29th, and what a tournament it was! The women were just a few points shy of a three-peat as national champions and took 2nd behind Oregon State University. The men took 4th overall but boasted several individual national champion performances, and the combined team took 2nd in the nation behind Oregon State University.

Brigham Young attackman Jake Halversen scored seven goals along with an assist to lead the top-seeded Cougars to a 13-5 victory over No. 14 Utah Valley and claimed the title at the 2024 MCLA National Championships in Round Rock, Texas last Saturday May 11.

Student Wellness recently announced the appointment of Jared Whippy as the new head coach for the extramural women’s rugby team. Whippy, who replaced Tom Waqa, began his tenure on November 26.

Coach Tom Waqa recently accepted new employment as the IT Network Infrastructure Engineer within the CES Network Center OIT, BYU. With these added responsibilities, Waqa is resigning effective October 10, 2022. Coach Sia Gomez will serve as interim Head Coach for the remainder of fall semester.
