Being part of the Brigham Young Women’s Lacrosse team is an incredibly unique opportunity. This team upholds the Honor Code of BYU and the standards of the Church of Jesus of Latter-Day Saints. We have the opportunity to play in a competitive atmosphere as well as share our beliefs. This team is treated as a high level organization, with full dedication and support expected from each of its athletes. The relationships built and lessons learned on this team are ones that last a life time. We play for the experience, we play for the competition, we play because we love it.

History of BYU Women’s LAX

BYU Women’s LAX was established in 1994 and has been competing without break in US Lacrosse Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse Associates (WCLA) former Women’s Division Intercollegiate Association (WDIA) and Rocky Mountain Women’s Lacrosse League (RMWLL). The success and longevity of the program was truly remarkable because the team did not receive any financial support from the school until this fall 2015. The past coaches have been volunteers and the students have had to pay to play this great game in the past. Much of the success of the program is due to the many dedicated coaches including Soni Bartlett, Amber (& Dan) Christensen, Kristy Quiggles, Ashley Lower, Mackenzie Harding, Julie Smith and Shelby Baron. The rest of the success is due to the many athletes who played for the team throughout the years. The program provides BYU students an opportunity to continue playing lacrosse at a competitive level by competing with other college teams around the nation while attending a university that complies with the standards of the Church of Jesus of Latter-Day Saints.
