ALBUQUERQUE, NM - BYU traveled to New Mexico to play the Lobos for their last match of the Fall conference season. The Cougars were 6-0 with aspirations to end the season undefeated. BYU dominated both offensively and defensively and finished the first half of the match leading 73-0. In total, the Cougars scored 19 tries and made 13 conversions against the Lobos.
BYU was named Rocky Mountain Conference Champion for the 2019 Fall season for the second year in a row and finished 7-0. They demonstrated their offensive power by averaging 88 points per match. The Cougars lock-down defense only allowed 7 opponent tries in 7 matches.
Winning the conference championship gives BYU an automatic bid to the playoffs in April. This is the Cougar's second conference title in two years with new head coach Steve St. Pierre. The Cougars have a bright future and are looking forward to games starting in 2020.
